Q:
What is the best shovel?
A: Remember,
a cheap tool is usually cheap for a reason. A good solid shovel
that fits you will save you aggravation in the long run. If
you ever are known to leave your tools out in the rain, a
fiberglass rather than wood handle may be a good bet. Test
the size and weight of the shovel before you buy.

Q:
What
is the best pruner to use?
A: For branches
larger than about 1/2 inch, you really want to use a pruning
saw. For smaller branches, a hand-held pruner is good. We
recommend using a "bypass" rather than an "anvil"
type - in the bypass type the blades cross (like scissors),
while in the anvil type a sharp blade meets a flat surface.
In general, the bypass will deliver a cleaner cut. An excellent
brand name is Felco.
