The Gardener’s Answer Store

When you come to Sky Nursery, you are often here for an answer to a problem. Your roses have black spot. Something is chewing on your cherry tree. You just don’t know what to do with that shady corner of the yard. You go to the Flowershed or Gazebo, and a Sky employee helps you find a solution to your dilemma. As you thank them, you often remark on how much knowledge they have. This is not an accident.

At Sky, we go to great lengths to keep abreast of new information. We read. We attend seminars. We have vendors in to explain how their products are best used. We even go back to school. Some of us spend our evenings pursuing horticultural education.

This spring, four of our long time flowershed employees achieved their professional certification. Their four-hour test covered plant identification, botany, plant problem solving, and design. No other Washington nursery had so many people even taking this exam, let alone passing it! The next time you are at Sky, congratulate our newest Certified Professional Horticulturalists: Judy, Kristel, Meagan, and Sarah. They are examples of the level of knowledge and professionalism we all strive to achieve - and four more reasons why Sky Nursery is “the gardener’s garden store.”
