March Veggie Starts
Tired of high prices for fresh greens at the grocery store? Too many holiday goodies got you thinking thin for summer? Have we got a deal for you!
In March, Sky will sell cool season pack vegetables, ready to plant out in your early spring garden. Several varieties of flavorful and colorful lettuce (Red Leaf, French Crisp, Gourmet Mix, Bibb and more), vivid green spinach, nutrition powerhouses such as broccoli, kale, and cabbage, will all be arriving for your delectation. And don’t forget your Walla Walla onion starts!
Depending on the weather and your specific location, you may want to give your starts some protection when you plant them out - Harvest Guard, cloches, or mini-greenhouses can protect from late frosts and stimulate faster growth. Then you, too, can turn up your nose at those sad-looking $2 lettuces in the grocery, and save green while eating greens.
