New Products for 2008

Every year Sky Nursery strives to bring you both the tried-and-true products you depend on and the best of the new. Among our new discoveries for 2008: Earth Juice Rootstick Gel, the first (and to date, only) natural and organic rooting formula. Use it on soft stem cuttings to encourage them to root. Another first for us is the Dr. Earth Life All Purpose Fertilizer, a rich, slow-release, fully organic fertilizer that has been pelletized so you can broadcast it (by hand or with a spreader) and just water it in. Other new organic fertilizers include Down to Earth Vegan Fertilizer, a 3-2-2 all-purpose fertilizer for those who prefer to avoid animal products in their plant food; Down to Earth Acid Mix, good for evergreen trees and shrubs; and Down to Earth Rock'n Chicken, a rich blend of rock phosphate and chicken manure. These join our already extensive line of organic fertilizers and soil amendments.

Other new products are designed to make gardening tasks easier for everyone. Tired of having to water your containers and hanging baskets daily? Put a Soil Moist™ Mat in the bottom, and it will absorb (and subsequently release) up to a quart of water. Better yet are the Soil Moist Vacation Mats, which can hold 2-3 weeks worth of water and slowly release them to your houseplants. Do a lot of spraying? The Gilmour Backsaver Sprayer (3-gallon capacity) has an innovative design that reduces bending to pump.

Finally, the Ames 'True Temper' Planter's Buddy offers you seven tools in one: a trowel/transplanter with a cutter/weeder tip, a tamper on the handle for tamping in stakes or markers, a serrated blade edge for cutting open bags, and a straight blade edge for cutting twine or sod.
