Pruning Tips

• Make sure your tools are clean and sharp
• Keep a small container of nail polish remover and denatured alcohol with a rag in your pruning kit to clean and disinfect tools as needed
• Make cuts just outside of branch collars or buds-never cut to stubs
• Take time to study the plant and make a plan before you start
• Prune when temperatures are above freezing
