Vegetable Gardening Made Easy

Growing your own food this year? Whether you are starting a new vegetable garden, planting lettuce on your porch, or are looking for something to take the fuss out of a large existing patch, Sky has tons of great tools to help you. Here are some of our favorite vegetable gardening aids: Raised bed kits! Raising your garden beds allows better drainage and earlier soil warming, and makes planting, caring for, and harvesting much easier on your back. Sky is now carrying three different styles of raised bed kits.

Gardening in a GrowBox Planter is perfect if you are looking for a no-fuss setup. The GrowBox creates the perfect growing environment through automatic watering, feeding, and aeration. These features make gardening easy for busy people who want fresh produce but don’t have the time to tend a full garden.   GrowBox
Another gardening method is planting in traditional raised garden beds. Sky Nursery carries untreated cedar in lengths of 2,3,4 and 8 feet. The notched ends interlock and are stabilized using sections of rebar. Mix and match lengths, even stack sections to create your own custom gardening beds.

Why not take it one step further and get a completely enclosed vegetable garden? We carry locally made Cedar Veggie Bins available in lengths of 3, 5 and 7 feet. The convenient height of 32" means you can eliminate bending and kneeling from your gardening routine.

If you’re looking for a bed kit, try the durable Frame-It-All systems – composite sections made from recycled products. We also carry the increasingly popular M-Brace, adding a decorative finish to the corners of your raised bed. If you are cramped for space, try our balcony and patio favorites: Vegetable Planting Bags and Willow Vegetable Planters.

Not sure what you’re looking for? Come on in and we’ll help you find the right setup for a fun and successful vegetable garden.
