WHAT'S NEW AT SKY NURSERY

Urban Farm at Sky

What’s new in the flower shed? We’ve put together a new Urban Farming display which will be revised regularly. We’re starting with a garden shed, Hooplas for cold protection, troughs and tubs, tools and tomato cages, gobs of gardening gear, a plethora of pretty plants, and more! Come in to get some inspiration for the season.

Columnar AppleAmong the plants perfect for the space-challenged urban farmer are skinny columnar apples or bushy mini dwarf apples on M27 rootstock. This extra dwarfing strain will produce a bushy tree 4-6 feet high and wide, excellent in containers or small spaces! These mini-dwarf apples should be staked to prevent breakage from fruit load. The skinny and mini apples join many other varieties of dwarf and semi-dwarf fruit trees here at Sky.

You asked — we listened! For those of you who do have larger trees, Sky has brought in orchard ladders in several sizes. Perfect for pruning now and for harvesting in the fall…. And make those tasks even easier by wearing a Gardener’s Hollow Leg, a belted fabric sack perfect for carrying your harvested fruit, twig clippings, or deadheaded flowers as you continue to work.

Also new in the store — greenhouse supplies including film and clips, for those who like to build it themselves rather than put up a Hoopla house or one of our pop-up greenhouses.

Spring Color BowlOr if you want to ignore the February weather altogether and just garden indoors — Sky has greatly expanded our line of hydroponics supplies, indoor lighting, and Foxfarm products.

But entice yourself outside by investing in a touch of instant spring. Sky’s gardeners have put together spring color bowls for you in an assortment of sizes. These cheerful containers can go on your deck or porch right now and will brighten the dreariest February day.

Abeliophyllum
So-called “pink forsythia” joins other early bloomers at Sky Nursery.

Fresh shipments arrive daily at Sky Nursery. Winter and spring blooming trees, shrubs, and vines are all pouring in. Daphne and sarcococca in full and fragrant bloom — budded evergreen clematis — bright quince and camellias — brilliant yellow winter jasmineshade trees, flowering cherries, Japanese maples, conifers of every size, shape, and color imaginable — if you want choices, we have them!
