Whether you live in an urban, suburban or rural setting there are forage-able weaving materials to be found.
Learn Erin's approach to sustainable and responsible foraging and how to get started in your own community through a rich slide-deck presentation with plenty of show & tell and time for Q&A.

Intro to Cordage with Soft Fibers
Sat July 11th, with Two 2-Hour Sessions, click below for details
Local weaving teacher Erin returns to Sky with a new class about a valuable crafting skill! One of the best ways to get to know the weave-ability of a plant is by making it into cordage. 'Cordage' is hand woven primitive rope or twine that has been found in neolithic sites, and is still used today to make many useful items.
Explore locally available plants (Daylily, Crocosmia, Dandelion, etc.), make sample cordage, and learn when/how to harvest, dehydrate, store and rehydrate fibers for weaving. Get inspired for fun ways to use more cordage in your life!
